Ahhh, I love this! The Merriweather Chronicles deserves every bit of praise you've heaped on it here, and more. I would absolutely love to read more someday, but if not, I'm so thankful for what we've been given. ❤️

And I don’t know if your headcanon for Anne's future is the same as mine, but I'll just say, when I went back and read Friendship and Folly with a certain perspective in mind, I couldn’t believe what I hadn't picked up on the first time! 😄

I feel the same way!

Hmmm, I wonder if our Ann theories are the same...I can't remember when I started thinking it, but I think it was after a second reading of the first two books that picked up on more subtleties.

I didn't start thinking of it until after the second book, and I couldn’t tell if it was me or something the author was ever so subtly leading me to, but after rereading the first book, I started thinking I'd just been blind the whole time. 😂 Of course, Ann was just as blind, so it's not necessarily my fault, but wow, was it there when I looked for it! (In particular, there's a scene when Ann has had a revelation about Julia's Feelings being tied to a certain man's Opinion of Her, and as she's brooding on it, she experiences nearly the same thing, but it's so subtle and so well done and so completely engulfed in Ann's role in Julia's storyline that I had no clue it was there until I went looking for it.) 😍 Also, I'm pretty sure Lady Thomasin knows. 🤭 Either way, the depth she can work into one seemingly throwaway comment is incredible! 😄

(Sorry for the long comment; I don't have many people to discuss my fan theories on this one with.) 😂

This is lovely. It can be so special to communicate with authors. I, also, have waited too long to write letters to my favorite living authors. In two cases, I still have time, but in another case, I may be running out of time.

You're making me want to read the Merriweather Chronicles!

Good to know!! I would read it on the strength of a recommendation from the two of you alone! I like books with good characters and relationships, and I wish there were more books that captured history in an authentic way. I want Regency books that are actually like Austen.

This series earned a spot on my "if you put it in battered board covers and stuck it in a stack of vintage books, I would not have been able to tell the difference" list, which is a high honor from me! 😄

I, too, have my own hopes and dreams for who Ann should marry!

I wish there was a way to communicate to "Miss Allady" how wonderful her books are! I also have searched high and low for any hints from the author that she is continuing the series someday, but (sadly) I suppose sometimes life gets in the way of writing for authors. Hopefully it is something positive that keeps her from continuing on!

And to repeat what the commenter Angie said, what she has given us so far is a gem to be thankful for! Lots of great rereading to come!

I will always be thankful to you for putting Letters to Julia as your top book one year, as I never would have heard of her otherwise!! And this is a beautiful tribute to her that hopefully she will see and that will help others discover a wonderful new author!
